Cliff Top Circuit (Undercliff, Overcliff, Shortcut Tracks)

There's a maze of tracks around the top of Wentworth Falls, all of which you can mix and match to create different walks. This circuit takes in some of the best of this area's scenery, without having to descend too far into the valley. Two sidetracks along the way (the first at Den Fenella, the second at Breakfast Point) offer early exits should you run out of steam.

Grade: Medium

Time: 2 hours

Distance: 3.5 kilometres

Closest public transport: Local bus 685 runs past the corner of Fletcher St and Falls Rd, 500 metres from the picnic area.

Finding the track

From Wentworth Falls railway station, turn right onto the Great Western Highway and then first left into Falls Road. Follow Falls Road for 1.7 kilometres to very end, and then follow signs to your right down to Wentworth Falls Lookout.

Walk directions

From the lookout, follow signs to the National Pass, heading downhill until you come to a T-junction with signs to the Undercliff Tracks. The Undercliff Track follows a shale ledge along the escarpment, and after 20 minutes or so becomes the Overcliff Track, which soon joins the Valley of the Waters track, ascending to the Conservation Hut. Just before the Hut, a sign on your right indicates the Shortcut Track, which leads back to the Picnic Area where you began.
